Day 01: Arrival Antananarivo.

Arrival at Ivato International Airport. Welcome by our team. Briefing and delivery of travel documents. Transfer to town. Installation and overnight at your hotel.

Day 02: Antananarivo / Antsirabe (170 km).

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the city of miles or Tana to discover the upper town whose remains of the Queen's Palace, Lake Anosy, the flower market .... Road to the South. Stop at Ambatolampy. Capital of aluminum in Madagascar, because all the aluminum pots are built there, Ambatolampy profiles its silhouette on the bluish horizon of the Ankaratra at 1500m altitude, and serves as a lunch stop. Visit of the aluminum pot factory. Free lunch on site. Continue to Antsirabe in the afternoon. Visit of a horn workshop. You will discover how from a zebu horn, these craftsmen are able to make in a still rustic way, trinkets, accessories ... Visit a traditional confectionery (candies like berlingots). Visit a precious and semi-precious stone mill. City tour by car: railway station, the Great Avenue and its totem, the spa hotel .... Half-board accommodation at your hotel. Antsirabe is 170 km from Tana, located in the middle of a fertile plain surrounded by high mountains, on average around 2500 m altitude, in an area of recent volcanism. Antsirabe is a spa, it is called "the city of water" become a very important economic city, famous for its fresh products and its mineral water called "visy gasy".

Day 03: Antsirabe / Ambositra / Sahambavy (240 Km).

Breakfast at the hotel. City tour pushes shoot and visit a miniature workshop: rickshaw and bicycle .... Continue to Ambositra. Visit some craft exhibition workshops of wood carvings and marquetry. Day 04: Sahambavy / Manakara.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the train station and drive to Manakara by train. Departure of the train at 7'00 from Fianarantsoa, it will pass through 17 stations including Sahambavy at 07'50 and one where you will stop longer than the others, those of Manampatrana. Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion by canoe on the Pangalanes canal. Village visit on the way. Picnic lunch at the mouth. Back in the afternoon. Checking-in, dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 06: Manakara / Ranomafana (178 km).

Breakfast at the hotel, we will explore the Ranomafana National Park which is located in the southeastern part of Madagascar in Haute Matsiatra and Vatovavy-Fitovinany. With more than 41,600 hectares (161 square miles) of tropical rainforest, the park is home to several rare species of flora and fauna including the golden bamboo lemur, the greater bamboo lemur, black and white ruffed lemur and Milne-Edwards sifaka, and over 120 species of frogs. Pitta like ground rollers, blue vangas, short-legged ground rollers and brown mesites can be seen. The park was established in 1991 with the purpose of conserving the unique biodiversity of the local ecosystem and reducing the human pressures on the protected area. It is part of the World Heritage Site Rainforests of the Atsinanana. The flora and fauna of Ranomafana have been subject to extensive scientific research. Various scientific publications have been published about this protected area. Adjacent to the park is the Centre ValBio research station , established in 2003 and managed by Stony Brook University with a focus on Biodiversity research, community health and education, environmental arts and reforestation.

Day 07: Ranomafana / Fianarantsoa (60 km).

Fianarantsoa has been known for its political activism and students of the University of Fianarantsoa have a reputation for sympathizing with radical leftist groups. It was placed by the World Monuments Fund on its 2008 Watch List of the 100 Most Endangered Sites. The Fianarantsoa Old City occupies a dramatic hilltop setting once topped with a palace used by the Merina royal family during state visits. While the palace is no longer there, some 500 homes built between 1870 and 1900 by those affiliated with the royal retinue still line the city's picturesque cobblestone streets. Buildings dating from this period survived because a royal edict forbidding commoners from using durable building materials was lifted in 1868. Moreover, the Old City is the only place in Madagascar where nineteenth-century buildings form a coherent architectural ensemble.
City Tour of the Old town of Fianarantsoa: Visit Fianarantsoa wich means "Good education" in Malagasy. It is a cultural and intellectual center for the whole island. It is home to some of the oldest Protestant and Lutheran cathedrals on the island, the oldest theological seminary (also Lutheran). Fianarantsoa is considered to be the capital of wine in Madagascar, because of the presence of many wine industries in the city. Day 08: Fianarantsoa / Ambalavao / Ranohira (297 Km).

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Ranohira. Stop in Ambalavao. Visit the Antemoro paper-making workshop. The Antemoro paper factory produces this artisan paper, which once dried, is decorated with dried flower petals: rare craftsmanship, letter paper in the lampshade. The whole chronology of this craft is visible on the spot. We continue our road trip with the majestic Andringitra in the background. We leave the highlands of Madagascar and enter a new microclimate: the dry bush and semi desert of southern Madagascar. We will visit the Anja Reserve, managed by the local community of villagers. This reserve is home to many unique species of lemurs including the very famous ring tailed lemur. We will transfer you to your hotel in the rock formations of Isalo.

Day 09: Ranohira (Isalo).

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the entrance of the Isalo Park. Guided tour of the park. Two small easy hikes are on the program: the canyons and the natural swimming pool: Under the heat in the massif to discover a magical place, a pool fed by a mini waterfall, oasis between a corner of two ruiniform cliffs in the shadows of pandanus . End point of a walk in wonderful landscapes. Free lunch either in the village or in the park (provide picnic). Sunset at the window of Isalo. Dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 10: Ranohira / Tulear / Ifaty (263 Km).

Breakfast at the hotel. Road to Tulear. Desert landscape or very poor vegetation consists of thorny plants. Discoveries of the Mahafaly Tombs en route. Tulear is a port city under the Tropic of Capricorn. Tulear remains a starting point for excursions in the deep south, to discover a wild bush. Lunch in Tulear. Transfer to Ifaty by a sandy track, chariot road to zebus. 23 km from Tuléar, sandy track, zebus chariot road, Ifaty is a fishing village facing the majestic bay with turquoise water, ideal place for relaxation and diving, far from civilization although Tuléar is only 2 hours drive. Checking, dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 11: Ifaty.

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day with half board at Ifaty. Possibility of various activities at sea: diving, snorkelling, visit of the baobab forest in Mangily.

Free day to the majestic beach of the island.

Day 13: Ifaty / Tulear / Antananarivo

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Tulear airport following flight time. Free lunch in Tulear or Antananarivo. Flight to Antananarivo. Welcome and transfer to your hotel for Day use. Provision of the vehicle until departure. Transfer to the airport, formalities and dinner on board. End of our services.
